OWENSBORO, Kentucky -- The Storm women's soccer team traveled to Kentucky Wesleyan for a conference match against the Panthers, falling short 2-1. The Storm move to a 1-8-1 record, and the Panthers rise to a 3-7 record. 

The Storm started off the first period with shots from sophomore Jillian Newlan, sophomore Leyna McCarty, and freshman Leonie Witt. Senior goalie Megan Biddell started off strong with two saves early in the match. Senior Megan Cornell tried to take the lead at the end with a shot, but the Panthers' goalie saved it. Both teams stayed tight on offense and defense, as the first half remained scoreless. 

The second period started with a goal from the Panthers at 46:10. Witt shot again to tie it up, but could not pass the goalie. The Panthers scored again soon after, to take a 2-0 lead. Senior Krista Harbart took a shot to try and get the Storm on the board at 62:20, but missed out top. The Storm continued to fight with a goal at 73:48 by sophomore Rahel Lang from Newlan. With a score of 1-2, the Storm tried to tie it up with shots from freshman Chloe Chen and Cornell, but the clock ran out with the Panthers ahead, 2-1. 

Biddell finished the match with five saves in the goal. 

The Storm are on the road again on Wednesday, October 5th at 4:00 PM to take on the Tiffin Dragons.
