Lake Erie Gets Back To Winning Ways; Take Down Tiffin, 87-69

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down Tiffin, 87-69 on Jan. 29 in Tiffin, Ohio. This marks the first win for the Storm after five consecutive losses, raising their record back up to .500 at 9-9 on the season and 3-8 in conference play.

The Storm dominated in the first half, outsourcing the Dragons 49-39 and shooting lights out from all areas of the floor. From beyond the arc, they shot an impressive 46.7% (7-15) while shooting 60.6% (20-33) from the field. Lake Erie would have three double-digit scorers after the half, as Caleb Piks (11), Leon Hughes (10) and Jackson Burdyshaw (10) led the way.

The second half was very similar as the Storm continued to dominate the game, outscoring the Dragons 38-30 and finishing the contest with an 87-69 victory.

Jackson Burdyshaw would finish the game as the leading scorer for the Storm while putting up a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Kevin Peterson would also impress on the day, contributing 15 points as well as 8 rebounds and 8 assists while shooting 3-7 from beyond the arc.

The Storm will be back in action on Feb. 2 at 5:30 PM at home against Findlay in the rescheduled game that was originally scheduled for Dec. 31.
