Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team fell to Ashland, 62-59 on Jan. 26 in Painesville, Ohio. This marks the Storm's fifth consecutive loss, dropping their record to 8-9 on the season and 2-8 in conference play.
The loss puts Lake Erie below .500 for the first time since a Nov. 12 loss to the University of Indianapolis.
The Storm struggled mightily in the first half, shooting just 32.3 (10-31) from the floor and 17.6 (3-17) from beyond the arc, although they managed to keep pace with the Eagles in terms of rebounding.
The second half ended up turning out slightly better only in part to better accuracy from three-point range (4-13) and good three-point defense (0-7).
On the day, Leon Hughes led the Storm with 16 points, shooting 6-15 and recording nine rebounds. Jordan Burton would add 11 points of his own and Jonny Manning and Kevin Peterson would each record seven rebounds in the contest.
The Storm will be back in action on Jan. 29 at 3:00 PM on the road against Tiffin before returning home to face Findlay at 5:30 PM in the makeup game originally scheduled for Dec. 31.
