Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) – Lake Erie College women's basketball falls to Hillsdale College in a competitive match ending with a final score of 78-66. The Storm showed promise through a battle of a first quarter, but Hillsdale's strong second quarter ultimately put the Storm down.
The first quarter was a battle between the two teams as they tied three times throughout. Breanna Bauer was fed the ball down low three times in a row, two times by Lainey Billing and another by Taylor Thomas as she put up six points in the first. Lauren Flannery came alive on a 3-point basket assisted by Kayla Clark early on. Flannery also made two free-throws to give her five points in the first quarter. Billing scored the other two points on a layup assisted by Flannery.
The second quarter did not go in favor of the Storm as Hillsdale was able to gain much momentum. The Chargers outscored the Storm 25-12 in the second quarter to put them ahead 39-25 going into the half.
Third quarter was all in the hands of Flannery as she put up nine points grabbing three defensive rebounds.
Bauer made her appearance known again in the fourth quarter putting up another eight points with two rebounds. Billing added another six points with one assist and rebound. The Storm was able to outscore the Charger 22-18, but the second quarter for the Chargers put them ahead by just enough to finish the Storm.

The Storm returns to action this Thursday, January 6th as they travel to Ohio Dominican University to take on the Panthers. Game time is set for 5:30PM.
