Lake Erie Struggles for Second Straight Game; Falling to Malone 71-66

The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team fell to Malone, 71-66 on Jan. 19 in Canton, Ohio. This second consecutive loss drops the Storm's record on the season to 8-6 and 2-5 in conference play.

The Storm fought hard in the loss, battling back from a 12-point deficit in the first half to bring the game within four going into the second. In the second half, Lake Erie managed to take the lead briefly but ultimately could not find success in stopping the Pioneer offense.

On the day, the Storm shot 47.3% from the field and 38.1% from beyond the arc. Senior Kevin Peterson led the team with 20 points, including 4-7 on shooting for three. Leon Hughes, who would come off the bench in the contest, contributed 13 points of his own.

Lake Erie was unable to control the boards, being out-rebounded 40-27 but managed to put together four blocks compared to Malone's two.

The Storm will be back in action on Jan. 22 at 3:00 PM on the road against Walsh before facing Ashland on the road and then returning home on Jan. 24 against Ohio Dominican.
