Storm Start off 2022 with a 79-67 Victory Over Oberlin

The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down Oberlin College, 79-67 on Jan. 11 in Painesville, Ohio. The victory improves the Storm's record on the season to 7-4.

The Storm got off to a decent start, shooting 43.3 percent from the field and impressed from beyond the arch by making 8-17 (47.1%). Lake Erie struggled with turnovers (8) in the first half however, preventing them from pulling away from the Yeomen, taking them into the half with a 37-29.

Jonny Manning would take over in the pain during the second half, scoring 12 of his 14 points on the day while adding four rebounds. 

The Storm would not be able to replicate their success from deep, shooting just 28.6% (4-14) but improving from the field with a 48.5% shooting percentage.

On the day, Jonny Manning would lead Lake Erie with 14 points while Connor Wright would put up a career-high 13 points in his first start.

The Storm will be back in action on Jan. 13 at 5:30 PM against Trevecca Nazarene for their first conference game since Dec. 11 against Ashland.
