(Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie Storm women's soccer team added a mark to their win column this weekend as they hosted the Ohio Dominican Panthers Sunday afternoon.
The first half was all Ohio Dominican. The Panthers had a multitude of changes down both wings, getting six shots off early on compared to the Storms two.
The two teams continued to battle in the second half, but again the Panthers outshot the Storm 7-3. The match got very physical with yellow cards being given out on both sides of the field. With neither team letting up defensively, regulation time ended with a tie of 0-0 forcing overtime.
It wasn't until the 100th minute of double overtime that Storm senior, Haley Scherer, found the back of the net. This is Scherer's first goal of the season and eighth of her career.
Notably, goalie Megan Biddell recorded eight saves in the win over the Panthers.

The Storm travel to Canton, Ohio to take on the Malone University Pioneers this Thursday, September 30th. Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM.
