Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) - The Lake Erie College Storm dropped matches against Malone and Walsh University this weekend.
Friday
The Lake Erie College Storm fell to the Malone Pioneers tonight with a final score of 3-0. Set scores were 25-13, 25-21, and 25-18. With the loss, the Storm falls to a 2-10 record while the Pioneers improve 5-7.
Offensively, Kariema Rodriguez and Jordan Taylor led the team with 25 kills each. Dora Olah followed closely with 17 kills.
Rodriguez led the defense with 12 digs followed by Taylor Metzler with 11 and Brooklyn Broadway with 10.
Saturday
The Lake Erie College Storm hosted Walsh University this afternoon. The Storm fell to the Cavaliers 3-1 with set scores of 25-22,25-15, 30-32, and 25-9. With the loss, the Storm falls to 2-11 while the Cavaliers move to 5-6.
After losing the first two sets, the Storm was ready to battle back. The game was within 3-points the whole set, as it tied 15 times throughout. The set ended with a kill by Maria Blatnik to make the score 30-32 in favor of the Storm.
Dora Olah had a strong arm today as she led the team with 16 kills. Blatnik followed with 10 kills and Kariema Rodriguez added 8 respectively. Simone Schurr had a good game for the Storm recording 36 assists in the match.
Defensively Schurr added 10 digs, Rodriguez added 9 and Taylor Metzler added 8 of her own.
