Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie College Storm will open up the 2021 season at home versus Wheeling University today, Thursday, September 2nd at 6 p.m.
Led by third year coach Reni Lawrence, the Storm look to improve from a rough spring soccer schedule going 0-8 in conference play. However, with a solid group of 12 returning junior and senior players returning to Painesville this fall, a seasoned Storm lineup looks poised to make some big improvements.
Some key returners for the Storm are junior forward Haley Scherer who led the team in scoring for 2019. In goal, sophomore Megan Biddell looks to build on a spring campaign that saw her place third amongst all G-MAC goalkeepers for saves per game.
Coach Lawrence states "We are extremely excited for the beginning of a new season. I have faith in this group and our team leaders. We have put in the work and now it's time to compete."
