Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) – The stands were filled for the Storm's home opener against the Notre Dame Falcons. Although they competed hard the Storm fell short as the Falcons took the match 3-1.
Despite losing the first two sets of the match, the Storm was able to take set three 25-20. After coming to a tie eight times within the set, the Storm was able to pull away after hitting the final five points. Notre Dame took a tactical timeout, but the momentum of the Storm could not be stopped.
The Falcons would go on to take the final set of the match, as they were led by Kaye Dregalla who finished the game with 16 kills.
Offensively for the Storm, Dora Olah was on fire, finishing with 19 kills. Kariema Rodriguez added nine kills of her own, and Jordan Taylor added eight. Simone Schurr was responsible for 28 assists on the night as Kaylee Hiser and Taylor Metzler added three each. As a team, the Storm finished with 41 kills on the night.
On the defensive end, Olah recorded 20 digs as Schurr added 17.
The Storm will return to action Friday, September 17th when they travel to Ashland University to take on the Eagles at 7 PM.
