Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) — The Lake Erie College women's soccer team lost its sixth straight game Thursday, falling on the road to Findlay, 4-0. This gives the Storm an 0-6 record for the season thus far, while the Oilers move to 2-2-1.
For Findlay, the scoring didn't occur immediately in this one; however, after the 35 minute mark, the Oilers seemed to find a second stride, putting four goals into the back of the net the rest of the way. It started with defender Brenna Shipley's goal at 38:07. That made it 1-0 heading into halftime. But in the second half, three more Findlay players got in on the act: forward Olivia Frank (51:41), defender Adele Stradling (68:52), and midfielder Sage Schnell (85:04).
Meanwhile, the Oilers kept the Storm offensive output at bay, allowing Lake Erie only two shots for the entire game. Findlay ended up with 18 shots on the day themselves. However, the Storm had more saves than the Oilers, with goalies Megan Biddell and Rachel Weber registering nine, compared to Findlay's two.
Additionally, Lake Erie midfielder Meagan Kennedy wound up receiving a yellow card in the 40th minute.
While there wasn't much to take away in this one for the Storm, they can now look ahead and prepare for their next game, which will come next Thursday, when they battle Trevecca Nazarene. That game will start at 4:00 p.m. EST.
