(Lynchburg, Virginia) – The Lake Erie outdoor track and field team competed at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invite today to open their 2021 outdoor campaign.
Coach Davis stated, "Although the meet was suspended because of the weather, there were some solid performances across all disciplines - sprints hurdles, jumps, throws, and distance events. I challenged the team to take things to the next level after a strong showing at the indoor championships, they responded very well today."
Highlights
- Raena Willett set a new school record today as she recorded a time of 18:41.29 in the women's 5000-meter run
- Luca Hartman set a school record today as well with a time of 58.64 in the women's 400-meter dash.
- Mikia Hutchings placed first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.46
- Sydney Crouch placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.51
- The women's relay team: Hutchings, Crouch, Hartman, and Imane Snyder finished first in the 4x100 with a time of 47.30
- Dominic Jones finished second in the 110- meter hurdles with a season-best of 14.86
- JT Johnson and Stanley Souverain had top 8 finishes in the 200m and 400m dashes
- The men's relay team: Jones, Johnson, Souverain and Tareeq Welch teamed up to finish 4th in the 4x100 relay
- Kendrick Scott and Thomas Scheetz had top 5 finishes in the shot put and hammer toss

The Storm will be back in action on April 8th and 9th when they travel to Walsh University to compete in the Walsh Invitational.
