INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- Lake Erie track & field thrower has been named the Great Midwest Field Athlete of the Week for the week of February 24th. This is the second time this season that a Lake Erie track & field student-athlete has received this honor and the first of Spielvogel's career.

Spielvogel won the women's weight throw at the Ashland Collegiate Tune-Up with a throw of 18.88m, beating out many Division I and G-MAC opponents. Her winning throw was a whole 1.15m farther than the next competitor and she is currently 11th in Division II.

The Storm will be back in action on Friday, February 28th for the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships in Ashland, Ohio.
