(Lexington, Ky.) - The Lake Erie men's golf team finished Day 1 of the SVSU Invitational in 17th place Saturday; Freshman Daniel Milo leads the team tied in 48th.
Milo started and finished strong throughout the day. Milo began his day with seven pars to start the round and closed out the final four holes with even par. He finished Day 1 5-over par 37-40--77. Antonio Bodziony closed out the front nine with back-to-back birdies on the 8th and 9th holes. Bodziony would sink another birdie on the 12th hole but got tripped up on the 13th.
Redshirt Freshman Jarrod Teeter carded a 39-40--79 (+7) and is tied in 68th place. Freshman Jacob Fitzpatrick is tied in 95th place with a 43-39--82 (+10); Freshman Kent Gross rounded out the Storm lineup in 115th place with a 43-48--91 (+19).
Grand Valley State leads the 21-team field +1 with a round one total of 289; Ferris State's Thomas Hursey is in first place after a 68 round one total (-4).
Lake Erie will look to improve Sunday on Day 2 as they get back on the Kearney Hill Golf Links.
