Box Score (NASHVILLE, TN.) - A 13-0 run in the fourth quarter was not enough for Lake Erie women's basketball to earn a road victory in a 65-57 loss to Trevecca Nazarene.
After Saturday's game in Nashville, the Storm drop to 1-13,1-13 G-MAC, while the Trojans improve to 3-2, 3-2 G-MAC.
In the first quarter, Lake Erie held Trevecca Nazarene to 36.8 percent shooting from the floor and didn't allow a three-point basket. Things shifted in the favor of Trevecca Nazarene in the second quarter as the Trojans outscored the Storm 13-7, riding a 29-23 advantage into halftime.
Coming out of the locker room for the second half, Trevecca maintained their lead as Lake Erie attempted their comeback. The Storm cut the lead down to four points under four minutes in the third quarter.
At the start of the fourth quarter, the Trojan lead grew to 16 points. In the final six minutes of play, Lake Erie would go on a 13-0 scoring run but it was not enough to overcome their deficit.
Lake Erie was led by guard Lainey Billing who scored 17 points and secured 11 rebounds. Senior forward Breanna Bauer led all players with 13 rebounds and added 14 points. The Storm struggled shooting from the floor and finished the game shooting 29.4 percent.
The Storm will remain on the road for a rescheduled match against Ohio Valley on Monday, Feb. 8. Tip-off in Vienna is set for 5:30 pm.
