Storm conclude 2021 campaign

(CANTON, Ohio) - Lake Erie ended its 2020-21 women's basketball season Saturday afternoon in a 46-96 loss to the defending G-MAC champions, Walsh. The Storm ends the season with an overall record of 3-18, and 3-18 in conference play, with the win Walsh, improves to 16-5, 15-6 in Great Midwest contests.

Both teams started the game out evenly to start the first quarter. Lake Erie finished the first period shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. In the second quarter, the Cavaliers flexed their offensive firepower and outscored Lake Erie 31-9. The Walsh lead grew to 49-21 at the halftime break.

Walsh continued to out-match the Storm the rest of the game, finishing with a shooting percentage of 53.7 percent compared to Lake Erie's 31.6 percent. Mayci Sales lead all scorers with 32 points. 

Sydney Wyngarden scored a team-high 16 points and 7 rebounds for Lake Erie. Dy'Jhanik Armfield tallied nine points in 17 minutes of action.
