Box Score (CANTON, Ohio) - With two games left the Storm close out the 2021 season against the Cavaliers twice in back-to-back days. It was a tough Saturday afternoon scoring for Lake Erie (4-13, 4-13 G-MAC) as fell the Storm fell to Walsh (10-8, 108-8 G-MAC) 61-84 in Canton.
Lake Erie struggled offensively in the first half, shooting 22-56 (32.3 percent) from the field and converted only 13 percent from three-point range.
The Storm came out of the locker room after halftime trying to eat away at the 46-25 deficit, making adjustments to limit the paint points for the Cavaliers, however, found themselves down by as much as 24 points with the score of 44-68 with 7:53 to go in the game. The rebound battle was the key in the second half, as Lake Erie allowed Walsh to outrebound them 42-27 to finish the game.
Jonny Manning and Caleb Piks each scored nine points, while Manning secured a team-high five rebounds.
The two teams are scheduled to meet again in less than 24 hours in Painesville at 3:00 pm. Sunday's game will be the final day of the regular season for Lake Erie.
