Second half surge not enough to extend win streak.

Box Score

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - The fight for the final playoff spot continues for Lake Erie men's basketball after dropping a 77-82 G-MAC contest against Ohio Dominican on Saturday.

In the first half, Ohio Dominican (5-11, 5-10 G-MAC) controlled the lead for much of the game. The Panthers shot 44.8 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from three-point range compared to the Storm 43.3 field goal percentage and 25.0 for three. Lake Erie (3-11, 3-11 G-MAC) found themselves down 31-38 at the halftime break.

At the start of the second half, Lake Erie continued to struggle to score a basket as the Panther lead continued to grow. The Storm would go on a 12-0 run with just under six minutes left in the game to cut the Ohio Dominican lead to 56-61.

Senior guard Harrison Riggs would convert on two free throws with 2:45 left to play that brought the Storm within four points. Offensively the Panthers would overcome every attempt the Storm would make at a comeback.

Ohio Dominican guard Matt King hit a crucial three-pointer with thirty seconds left and would put the game away and extended the Panther lead to 78-71.

Jeramie Burge scored a team-high 18 points, junior forward Kevin Peterson added 16 points. Riggs earned 15 points, 10 assists, and five rebounds.

Lake Erie is scheduled to host Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday at 6:00 pm.
