Box Score The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down the Tiffin Dragons, 70-57 on Dec. 8 in Painesville, Ohio. This win snaps the Storm's two-game skid and improves their o overall record to 5-3 in addition to earning their first conference victory of the year.
Both teams got off to an abysmal start, struggling to score the entire first half. The Storm shot 39.3% from the field and 0% from beyond the arc on eight attempts compared to Tiffin's 30.6% from the field and 9.1% from deep. With a 32-26 deficit finishing the half, Lake Erie would look to get out of their funk and fight back.
Things took a better turn in the second half, with the Storm shooting 53.1% from the field and 36.4% from deep. The Lake Erie defense showed up as well, outrebounding Tiffin 22-17 and coming up with 6 steals.
Led by the exceptional play from Kevin Peterson, who shot 3-4 from 3-point range in the half and snapping a 0-17 drought, the Storm were able to pull away late and finish out with a 13-point victory.
On the day, Peterson was the leading scorer with 14 points with Jordan Burton right behind him with 11. Johnny Manning would also add 9 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
Lake Erie will be back in action on Dec. 11 at 3:00 PM on the road against Ashland.
