Box Score The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team fell to the Malone Pioneers, 79-64 on Dec. 4 in Painesville, Ohio. This loss marks the Storm's fourth consecutive loss and drops their record to1-6 on the short season so far.
The Storm came out raging to begin the match, quickly putting together a 13-point lead against the Pioneers due to strong play by Lainey Billing and Breanna Bauer. In the half, the Storm were looking unstoppable, taking a 36-28 lead with Billing and Bauer combining for 24 of those points.
In the second half, Lake Erie started to cool off as they slowly saw their lead begin to get slimmer and slimmer but continued to fight on deep into the fourth quarter. It wasn't until the final few minutes where the Pioneer's lead would be too much for the Storm to bounce back from and they finished the match with a final score of 79-64.
On the day Bauer would shoot 10-14 from the field, totaling 24 points for the Storm and adding 4 rebounds while Billing would finish with 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists.
Lake Erie will be back in action on Dec. 8 at 7:30 PM at home against Tiffin for their third consecutive conference game.
