Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) - The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team fell to Findlay, 82-71 this afternoon. The Storm battled hard, but the Oilers walked away with the conference win.
This matchup was off to a quick start as the Oilers scored 25 points in the first quarter, but the Storm did not back down as they put up 17 points. Lauren Flannery put up six points in the first quarter with two assists to lead the Storm.
The second quarter was full of action again as the Storm put up 23 points to top the Oilers who put up 16. Lainey Billing added six points, with Aislyn Hurst who put up five. The Storm went into the half trailing the Oilers 41-40.
Findlay came into the half strong putting up another 24 points while the Storm added another 17. Alexis Lehmkuhl came alive putting up six points with two blocks, with Flannery adding another four points and two assists.
The fourth quarter was the lowest scoring of the game with the Oilers coming out on top 17-14. Flannery added another six points.
Although the Storm walked away with a loss, it was a great team appearance. Flannery ended with 19 points, eight assists and two steals. Billing followed with 11 points, four assists and one steal. Aislyn Hurst, Taylor Thomas, and Breanna Bauer all ended with nine points in the loss. Several other Storm athletes contributed in the competition as everyone who stepped on the court scored.
Overall, the Storm shot 40.9% in the battle against the Oilers of Findlay.

The Storm will be back in action this Sunday, January 2 as the Chargers of Hillsdale will travel to Painesville. Tipoff got moved to 1PM as the men's game got postponed due to COVID protocols.
