Box Score (Painesville, Ohio) – A rough first half put the Storm down 23-42 making the Storm unable to come back in the second half. The Lake Erie Storm women's basketball team started conference play this evening as they hosted the Walsh Cavaliers. Lake Erie fell to Walsh 70-51.
The first quarter was rough for the Storm as the Cavaliers added 21 points right off the bat. Lake Erie did not have much momentum to start off as they added only eight points.
Sydney Wyngarden came off the bench in the second quarter adding four points, with two assists and two steals. Breanna Bauer and Taylor Thomas added three points each. The Storm had a better quarter as they added 15 points, but the Cavaliers did not let up as they added another 21 points.
The third and fourth quarter were a battle for the two teams as they tied 13-13 in the third and 15-15 in the fourth.
Lainey Billing and Sydney Wyngarden were both the leading scorers for the Storm as they both put up 11 points. Wyngarden led the team with three steals and three assists.
