Box Score (Pepper Pike, Ohio) – Lake Erie women's basketball loses a nail biter of a game as the Arrows won by only five-points. There were three lead changes throughout the game as well as three ties, but the Arrows secured the win as they topped the Storm 80-75.
The Storm started out strong with 23 points in the first quarter, taking the lead over Ursuline 23-14. The Storm extended their lead in the second quarter putting up another 21 points while Ursuline put up only 16. Going into the half, the Storm was up 44- 30.
The Arrows came out the half with all the momentum though. In the third quarter they outscored the Storm 16-25 taking the score to 60-55 still in favor of the Storm. However, another 25-point quarter for the arrows in the fourth took them over the Storm to finish 75-80 in favor of the Arrows.
The Storm had four players in double-digits in todays competition. Lainey Billing recorded another double-double on the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds, she was followed by Lauren Flannery with 17 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Taylor Thomas put up 16 points for the Storm with three rebounds. Abby Matalavage added 15 points for the Storm with five rebounds.
As a team the Storm played well today as they shot 48.3% FG, and 30.8% 3PT, with 90.0% FT.

The Storm will return to action following Christmas with a conference matchup versus Findlay. Findlay will travel to Painesville Friday, December 31st.
