Efficient Shooting Lifts the Storm Over Le Moyne, 79-65

Box Score

The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down the Le Moyne Dolphins, 79-65 on Dec. 14 in Syracuse, New York. This win improves their record to 6-4 in the early season.

The first half was completely dominated for the Storm by PJ Jones and Leon Hughes. The two would combine for 18 of the Storm's 35 first-half points with both hitting two threes each. Although Lake Erie struggled to hold onto the ball (11 turnovers), they managed to hold a 35-33 going into the second half.

In the second half, it was Kevin Peterson and Jordan Burton's turn to take the reigns as they combined for 30 of the Storm's 44 second-half points and continued to pull farther and farther away with Lake Erie finishing off the contest with a 79-65 victory.

On the day, the Storm's efficient shooting (49.2% FG, 41.7% 3PT) would be the key to their success. Burton led the team with 21 points and 6 assists while shooting 9-13 from the field and 3-5 beyond the arc.
