Box Score The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball completed a 19-point comeback against the Salem Tigers on Nov. 24 in Painesville, Ohio. The Storm improve to 3-1 on the year while the Tigers drop to 4-2.
The first half was completely dominated by the Tigers, as they started out the match by taking an early 17-5 lead. On the half, the Storm were outshot 52.8%-34.3% from the field and 42.9%-7.1% from the arc. With momentum continuing to build for Salem, they took a 50-31 lead going into the second half.
After some major half-time adjustments, things started to pick up for Lake Erie. Continuing to chip away at Salem's lead, the Storm managed to tie the game with 4:50 left.
The Tigers would retake the lead with 1:49 left with a couple of made free throws.
With 0:25 left, Salem would go up by two, 82-80 but a Caleb Piks layup with 0:07 left would take the game to overtime.
Jonny Manning and Jordan Burton would take control of the game for the Storm in overtime, each scoring 5 points while Jonah Wagg would contribute with 4 assists, giving the team a gritty 95-92 victory to put the Tigers to bed.
On the day, Caleb Piks would be the Storm's leading scorer while Jonny Manning would record his second double-double of the season, scoring 22 points with 11 rebounds.
The Storm will return to action Nov. 30 at home against Edinboro at 7:00 PM before starting conference play against Walsh on Dec. 2.
