(Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie women's soccer program took field both Thursday and Saturday, coming up short in both. Final score against the Yellow Jackets was 3-0, followed by Saturday's score versus the Ohio Dominican Panthers of 4-0.

Thursday

The Lake Erie College women's soccer team lost its second straight game Thursday, falling to the Cedarville Yellow Jackets. This gives the Storm a 2-6-2 record for the season thus far.

For Cedarville, the scoring didn't occur immediately in this one, however, after the 18th minute, Hannah Sareyka found the back of the net for the Yellow Jackets, putting them up 1-0, to start the run of goals.

The Yellow Jackets seemed to find a second strike in the second half as two goals were scored. In the 54th minute of the game, Audrey Nelson scored. This goal was followed by a goal by Tiffany Campbell, assisted by Cora Van Dyck in the 73rd minute of the game to put Cedarville up 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Yellow Jackets kept the Storm offensive output at bay, allowing Lake Erie only three shots on goal with eight total shots the entire game. Cedarville ended up with 18 shots on the day themselves 10 being on goal. However, the Storm had more saves than the Yellow Jackets.

Saturday

Goalkeeper Rachel Weber was the anchor of the Storm defensive unit as she racked up 10 saves with 14 shots on goal from the Panthers offensive attack.

Additionally, the Storm kept the pressure on the Panthers with two shots on goal but could not get either of the two to reach the back of the net.

Up Next

The Storm is set to host Trevecca Nazarene, Thursday, October 14th. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
