Box Score 2 The Lake Erie Storm Volleyball team lost two matches this weekend. The Storm traveled to Cedarville University Friday evening losing 3-0. The Storm then traveled to Ohio Dominican to face the Panthers, however the Panthers won 3-1.
Friday
Cedarville took the Storm in 3 sets with final scores of 25-8, 25-21, and 25-22. The Storm was off to a rough start in the first set, but battled back in the second and third, but unfortunately came up short.
Kariema Rodriguez led the match with six kills, followed by Jordan Taylor with five. Simone Schurr recorded another 17 assists on the night along with seven digs. Kaylee Hiser added six digs of her own in the loss.
Saturday
The Storm traveled to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers Saturday evening. The Panthers beat the Storm 3-1 with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-27, and 25-19.
The Storm fought hard in the loss, coming up only a few points short in three of the sets.
Dora Olah had a night recording 16 kills with seven digs, followed by Maria Blatnik with 12 kills and Kariema Rodriguez with seven kills, 13 digs.
Simone Schurr had an impressive 38 assists in the match along with six digs defensively. Also on the defensive side was Hiser with 19 digs and Taylor Metzler with 12.
Next Up
The Storm will be back in action this Friday, October 29th as they host Roberts Wesleyan. This match is set to begin at 6 PM.
