Box Score The Storm kicked off conference play this weekend when they hosted Findlay at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. The Storm came into the game with a record of 3-1, while the Oilers came in at 2-2.
Lake Erie once again got off to a hot start in the game going 66 yards down the field in 14 plays to set up kicker Justin Smith for a 26-yard field goal.
The Oilers would respond shortly after with a rushing touchdown, giving them a 7-3 lead.
Findlay would go on to score 10 more unanswered points but Gerald Gardner would connect with Peyton Brown on a 59-yard touchdown, closing the gap to 17-10.
From there on, the Oilers would go on to score 20 more points throughout the contest.
For the Storm, Devin Brown led the team with 116 yards on 19 carries. Gardner went 18-34 with 203 passing yards. Nate Dantley led the team in receiving pulling in 8 catches for 82 yards.
Defensively, Taareeq Welch came up with an interception and Karry Debose forced a fumble and recovered it as well.
The Storm are back in action on October 9, at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium at 3:00 PM to welcome Tiffin into town. The game will be a pink out in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
