Box Score Lake Erie stunned Hillsdale today, 33-14, with the Storm dominating the Chargers both offensively and defensively.
A big play early in the first quarter would give the Chargers a 7-0 lead but the Storm would respond by marching down the field in 15 plays the next possession, capping off the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run by Devin Brown. A blocked extra point would make the score 7-6.
The Storm's last blemish of the day would come on the following kickoff when Hillsdale would take it back 89-yards for a touchdown giving them their last lead of the game 14-6.
Early in the second quarter, Gerald Gardner would connect with Peyton Brown on a 65-yard pass, trimming Hillsdale's lead down to just one.
Gardner would connect with Eric Daniels on the next offensive drive, giving the Storm the lead for good and putting them up 20-14.
The Storm would onto that lead in the fourth quarter when Gardner and Brown would connect once again for a touchdown, this time a 49-yard pass, giving the duo two touchdowns together on the day.
The final nail in the coffin for Hillsdale would be an 86-yard run by Devin Brown, adding onto his already impressive day.
For the Storm, Gardner would finish the day 30-42 for 322 yards and three touchdowns. Peyton Brown would collect nine receptions for 167 yards, including two touchdowns and Devin Brown would rush for 152 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts.
Defensively for Lake Erie, there would be four sacks on the day and a pair of interceptions by Karry Debose and Tareeq Welch.
Lake Erie improves to 4-3 on the season and earns their first win in program history against Hillsdale.
