Box Score 2 (Painesville, Ohio) – The Lake Erie College Storm fell to Hillsdale College and Findlay University this weekend in two tough conference matchups.
Friday
The Lake Erie Storm lost their match against the Hillsdale Chargers Friday evening with a final score of 3-0. With the loss, the Storm falls to 2-13 overall, 0-6 in the GMAC.
Set scores for the match included a 12-25 loss in the first set, followed by a 16–25-point loss in the second set. The Storm fought hardest in the third set, scoring 19 points, including a late run-in which Lake Erie was down 13-9. The team scored four points with Jordan Taylor at the service line, making the score 13-13. The set tied three more times, but the Chargers ultimately outbattled the Storm with a final score of 19-25.
Dora Olah had a night for the Storm recording nine kills and eight digs, along with Kariema Rodriguez who added eight kills and three digs on the night.
Simone Schurr recorded 21 of the 22 assists in the match along with seven digs. Kaylee Hiser added 10 digs of her own in the loss.
Saturday
Storm volleyball fell to Findlay tonight in four sets. With this loss, the Storm falls to 2-14 overall, 0-7 in the GMAC.
Set scores for the match included 25-23, 21-25, 10-25, and 12-25. The Storm fought hard to win their first set of the night. The set went back and forth, tying 13 times before the Storm was able finish it off. The set ended with a kill by Kariema Rodriguez.
The following set was also a battle for the Storm, but the Oilers ultimately came out on top. The third and forth set were controlled heavily by Findlay as the Storm lost their momentum.
Olah ended the night with 14 kills, six digs, followed by Rodriguez with 11 kills, five digs. Metzler lead the match with 10 digs.
Schurr recorded 37 of the 38 assists in the match along with 2 digs and one kill.

The Storm will be back in action Friday, October 8th as they host Kentucky Wesleyan in another conference matchup. First serve is set for 6 PM.
