Box Score The Lake Erie women's basketball team lost to Hillsdale on Monday, 76-66. This was the Storm's third unsuccessful try at getting in the win column in the young season. Coming off of a disappointing loss at home to Ohio Dominican on Saturday, the ladies team returned to the hardwood at the Osborne Center on Monday to take on the Chargers of Hillsdale.
The Storm were able to stay within striking distance in the first half, heading to the locker room down only four. But in the second half, the Chargers slowly pulled away. In total, three different Hillsdale players finished with at least 15 points (Arianna Sysum, Grace Touchette, and Jaycie Burger). All three of those players also had at least five rebounds. Lauren Daffenberg's 10 points off the bench turned out to be the difference in the game.
Sophomore guard Sydney Wyngarden led the way for the Storm with 23 points and six rebounds. Junior guard Lainey Billing contributed an additional 18 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort.
Next up on the schedule for the Storm is a trip to nearby Ursuline College to face off with the Arrows.
