Box Score (PAINESVILLE, Ohio) - The Storm offensive struggles continued during the first half Saturday afternoon, as Lake Erie men's basketball (0-7, 0-7 G-MAC) fell to No. 7 Findlay (11-1, 10-1 G-MAC) 67-83 in Niekamp Arena.
Early in the first half Lake Erie looked as if they were poised for a road upset and kept the score close at 13-15 with just over 9 minutes into the game. The Oilers would quickly regroup offensively and grew the lead to 20 going into the break at 48-28. At halftime, Jermaine Burge led the Storm with 11 points shooting 3-3 from behind the arc. The Storm committed eight turnovers and allowed Findlay to shoot 52.8% from the field to end the first half.
The second half was much like the first as the Oilers controlled the game the whole way through. Anthony Masterlasco led Findlay with 12 points.
Lake Erie finished the game shooting 37.7 % and only converted on 11 of 35 three point attempts. Defensively the Storm forced a season high 10 steals and 16 points off of turnovers.
Jackson Burdyshaw and Jacob Plantz each scored a game high 17 points. Burge added 15 points off the bench.
Lake Erie will have a day to refocus before finishing the season series against No. 7 Findlay on Monday, Feb. 1. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
