Box Score (Hillsdale, Mich.) - No. 15 Hillsdale (10-1,10-1 G-MAC) proved to be too much for Lake Erie men's basketball (0-6,0-6 G-MAC) Thursday night in Hillsdale. In the 63-70 loss, the Storm finished the game shooting 39 percent.
The first half was dominated by Hillsdale starting out the game on a 0-7 scoring run. The Chargers lead would continue to grow to 28-9 just under six minutes to play before halftime. The Storm could not convert from the field early on and shot 25.8 % going into the halftime break down 22-43.
Much like the first meeting in Painesville, the Storm defense could not contain the combination of Patrick Cartier and Austen Yarian's who dropped 24 and 19 points respectively.
Jacob Plantz led Lake Erie with 12 points and was the only player in double figures. The quadruplet of Caleb Piks, Trey Brooks, Leon Hughes, and Harrison Riggs each scored eight points in the loss.
The road test continues Saturday as Lake Erie men's basketball travels to No. 7 Findlay. The Oilers hold a 10-1 overall, 9-1 G-MAC record.
