(TIFFIN, Ohio) - Lake Erie men's basketball (0-3,0-3 G-MAC) was unable to catch Tiffin (3-5, 3-5 G-MAC) in the second half as the Storm dropped a 71-78 road contest in Tiffin, Ohio. 

The Storm found themselves down 31-38 at halftime partially due to committing 13 turnovers. Tiffin capitalized on the mistakes and finished the first half shooting 53.1 percent on 17 of 32 shots. Jacob Plantz lead the Storm with eight points and six rebounds going into the halftime break.

In the second half the Lake Erie made a strong push and cut their turnovers down to six. The Storm were able to string a put a couple of consecutive baskets and brought the game to 63-69 with three minutes left in the game. Jeramie Burge provided a spark off the bench in his first appearance with the Green and White, Burge scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half going 3 of 6 from behind the arc. 

Plantz and Burge led the Storm in scoring as they each had a team-high 19 points. Plantz was also big on the glass securing 12 rebounds and his first double-double of the year. Leon Hughes contributed six points, five rebounds, and three assists in the first start of his career. 

Lake Erie finished the game shooting 39% from the field including going 13 of 38 from beyond the three-point line. In comparison, Tiffin was 48.5% from the field despite being outrebounded by the Storm 42-26.

The Storm will turn right back around for a game on Saturday against Cedarville in Painesville. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
