Box Score On Thursday night, the Lake Erie women's basketball team fell to Tiffin, 67-56. The loss marked the fifth straight for the Storm to start the 2020-21 season.
The affair was one of the closest the Storm played all season, with the score tied at 50 with only minutes left. But then the Dragons went on a run that Lake Erie was unable to keep up with. Guard Aarion Nichols led the charge for Tiffin with 11 points and an impressive 16 rebounds, and forward Jada Tate had 14 points herself.
Despite the outcome, the Storm boasted four players with at least 11 points: forwards Abby Matalavage and Breanna Bauer, and guards Dy'Jhanik Armfield and Lainey Billing (Billing finished with 14 points). Additionally, Billing and Bauer each registered six rebounds. Armfield also had four steals on the night.
Next up for the Storm is the second of a three-game home stand on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., when the Pioneers of Malone take the trip up from Canton to Painesville.
Due to COVID-19 protocols, no spectators will be allowed to attend ALL indoor home events this season.
