CANTON, Ohio

The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team won their G-MAC matchup against conference foe Malone University with a final score of 65-61. The competition was fierce and evenly matched throughout the game, featuring eight tied scores and five lead changes from the two teams this evening. Storm senior Josie Chaddock put the team on her back and drew two fouls in the last ten seconds to give the Storm a four-point security blanket over the Pioneers.

Both Chaddock and Breanna Bauer scored 17 tonight in the effort against the Pioneers. Senior Ashley West added 11 points.

Freshman Lauren Flannery did work on the boards tonight, recording nine, of which eight were defensive rebounds.

The win brings the Storm to 10-16 overall and puts them at 7-9 in the G-MAC. The Pioneers fall to 17-8 with a conference record of 11-4. With the new rankings system, this road win bodes well for the Storm, and they may see the Pioneers again in the conference tournament in a few short weeks.
