Pagan Wins Discus To Highlight Denison Meet

(GRANVILLE, Ohio) – Lake Erie sent a few athletes to Denison University for a last-meet tune-up before next week's G-MAC Championships on Friday. The Storm did well despite only sending six athletes. Despite that, four of them were able to place.

Lauren Pagan was the highlight of the meet as she took first in the discus. She hit 36.01 meters on her first attempt which held up through both flights and the finals for gold.

Dominic DiFranco started off the day with a sixth place finish in the discus. He did well enough in his initial flight to make the finals and saved his best attempt for last as he measured 39.72 meters on his final attempt.

Lauren Pagan followed up just a short while later with a sixth place finish in the hammer throw. Her best attempt was her third and final of her flight as she threw 38.69 meters to get to the finals, but couldn't reach it again on her next three attempts.

Paige Tranchida took eighth in the shot put. Her best attempt was the first as she threw 10.65 meters. She was able to hit 10 meters again on two of her final five attempts and didn't fault on any of her six throws.

The Storm will be back in action next week as they head to Hillsdale for the G-MAC Championships.
