Box Score

CANTON, Ohio- The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team fell to the Malone University Pioneers (15-13, 13-9) in the final game of the 2018-2019 season. The loss cemented a final season record of 11-16, with a G-MAC record of 8-14.

The first ten minutes of play were relatively even between the Storm and Pioneers, and the first quarter ended with three-point lead favoring Malone. A pair of Pioneer three-pointers extended their lead to nine points at the 6:00 mark in the second quarter. The two teams went into the locker rooms with a score and the end of the first half of 22-9.

The Storm kept the Pioneer lead within ten points in the third quarter, but it wasn't enough to stop the Pioneers from draining nine three-pointers in the second half. The Storm fell to the Pioneers with a final score of 56-34.

Storm junior Josie Chaddock led the Storm with eight points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The Minerva-native ended the season scoring 365 points (14.9 ppg), aided by a shooting percentage from the field of 45.6, and shot 82.2 percent from the charity stripe. Chaddock also one of the top players in the G-MAC when it comes to ball control, recording 60 steals (2.2 spg), 106 assists (3.9 apg), and 104 rebounds (3.9 rpg) in the 2018-2019 season.

Although they finished their season on the road, this Storm squad performed well defending their home court, finishing with a 7-5 record at the Osborne Center, and three players sitting in top ranks of the G-MAC in statistical categories. This was head coach Brook Kohlheim's inagural season with the Storm, and the 5-2 start to open the 2018-2019 season was the best start that Storm women's basketball has had since 2014.
