Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fl. - The Storm softball team has finished their 10 game Spring Break trip with a record of 4-6. They have scored 37 runs, with a team batting average of .232, an on-base percentage of .278, and a slugging percentage of .329.
Their wins were against Concordia, Rockhurst, Concord, and Nyack. Their losses were against Quincy, Franklin Pierce, Bridgeport, Nyack, Notre Dame, and Drury.
Leading the Storm offensively is centerfielder Peyton Brownlee. She recorded 11 hits, one triple, one RBI, and scored five runs herself in 10 games, averaging .355 at the plate and on base, with a slugging percentage of .419.
The three Storm players that went yard in Florida were left fielder Taylor Phillips, short stop Kaitlin Peacock, and freshman pitcher and DP Rachel Ward. Phillips has hit in 8 runs with a slugging percentage of .448, while Peackock has had two stolen bases with a slugging percentage of .464. Ward has hit four doubles, hitting in eight runs on eight hits. The freshman is averaging .308 at the plate, while getting on base 33 percent of the time. Additionally, Ward has a slugging percentage of over .500.
Senior Allyson Deemer has pitched five of the 10 games so far, with a record of 2-3, with 11 strikeouts so far. Parker Viele has a record of 1-2 with 12 strikeouts so far, and Rachel Ward and Hayley Dix both have eight and one strikeout respectively.
The Storm returns back to North East Ohio for softball this week, with a double header against Malone University to open up conference play.
