(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The Lake Erie men's basketball team will close at an incredible calendar year against Thiel on New Year's Eve afternoon. The Storm are looking to get back in the win column after falling to a talented Le Moyne squad the last time out as they square up with the Tomcats at the Osborne Center.

Thiel is a new opponent for the Green and White despite a close proximity between the two campuses. The Tomcats are a Division III member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference and located just across state lines in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

The Storm enter with a record of 8-5 while the visitors enter at 2-6, most recently falling to Allegheny 82-68.

Despite the difference in affiliation, both teams do have one common opponent on the year. Thiel opened its season with a 95-72 defeat at Edinboro back on November 8. The Storm also traveled to Edinboro and defeated the Fighting Scots 100-71 on the first day of the month. It was their highest point-total this season.
