FAIRBANKS, Alaska

The Lake Erie College Storm (1-7) earned their first win of the 2019-2020 season at the North Star Invitational over Converse College (1-6) yesterday.

Head coach Kenzie Perttu's team was dominant in their first showing of the tournament, holding a commanding lead for 36:45 in the contest, and stretching their lead to 18 at the 6:18 mark in the final quarter of play.

Senior Josie Chaddock recorded a double-double, leading the Storm with 15 points, and also recording her 1,000 career point with the Storm women's basketball program, and pulling down 11 boards. 

Junior Breanna Bauer and freshman Sydney Wyndgarden added 14 points respectively.

The Storm will be back in action in Alaska tomorrow for their second matchup of the tournament.
