Ashley Mundey broke the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute of the contest. The Storm was able to hold the lead with the help of freshman Rachel Weber's performance in-goal. She had five saves in five shots-on-goal from the Dragons.
Tiffin had an overall record of 8-10-1 last year, and a conference record of 6-4-0. They were ranked 7th this year in the G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour.
The Lake Erie College women's soccer team returns to defend their home turf in a G-MAC contest this Saturday, September 8th against Findlay University at 12pm.
