Storm Falls On The Road At Daemen

Box Score

(AMHERST, N.Y.) – In the last non-conference game before G-MAC play starts, Lake Erie fell to Daemen by a score of 71-51 on the road in Lumsden Gymnasium on Monday evening. The Storm dropped even to 3-3 on the early campaign. The Wildcats, ranked No. 7 in last week's D2SIDA East Region media poll, improved to 4-1.

Lake Erie battled early and fought the hosts to an 8-8 ballgame through the first six minutes of the game before Daemen proceeded to go on a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to take control. The Wildcats eventually pushed their lead out to 37-21 by halftime.

The Storm did control the glass throughout with a 46-41 advantage in rebounds with an incredible 28 boards on the offensive end alone. That helped translate into a 16-9 advantage in second-chance points, but Lake Erie was cold from the floor overall as it went 19-for-75 on the night.

David Dunnigan was the bright spot for the Storm as he tallied 15 points and was 6-of-10 from the field. He and Brogan Scott pulled down seven rebounds each, second only to Erron James with 10 for team-high honors.

On the opposite end, Daemen was near just a shade under 50 percent at 27-for-55. Three Wildcats scored in double-figures. Andrew Sischo led the way with 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting. He recorded a double-double with 13 rebounds.

The Storm will now prep for Thursday's G-MAC opener against Alderson Broaddus. Tip-off with the Battlers is set for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at 5:30.
