Early Goals Down Storm in G-MAC Opener, 2-0

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team made their Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) debut on Wednesday (Sept. 6) with a road matchup at Ursuline College.

Ursuline scored two goals in an eight minute period that led to a 2-0 victory over the Storm.

In the 22nd minute, Ursuline took a 1-0 lead with a goal off of a rebound. Eight minutes later, the Arrows added a second goal for a 2-0 lead.

Ursuline outshot the Storm 17-12 over the course of the game, with the Storm taking seven shots in the second half. Anne-Kristin Frank (Koeln, Germany / St. Dominikus Karlsruhe) led the Storm with four shots on offense. Kristen Redwood (Euclid, Ohio / West Geauga) had three shots in the contest.

Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio / Lake Catholic) faced 17 shots in goal, while making 11 saves overall.

The Storm will continue their two-game road trip with a non-conference game at Daemen on Friday (Sept. 8).
