Second Half Goals Lift Cavaliers Over Storm

NORTH CANTON, Ohio- The Lake Erie College men's soccer team took on the Walsh University Cavaliers on Tuesday (Sept. 19) night in a road Great Midwest matchup.

The Cavaliers used two late second half goals in a 3-1 win over the Storm.

Walsh scored first with a goal in the first two minutes of the contest and held that lead throughout the entire first half.

Nine minutes into the second half, Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain / Los Spices School) tied the game with a goal from an assist by Miguel Espinoza (Perry, Ohio / Perry). Borreguero's fourth goal of the year tied the match at one. The Cavaliers scored two goals in the final twenty minutes of the match, taking the contest 3-1 from the Storm.

Lake Erie had six shots in the second half as the Cavaliers had a 12-7 shot advantage in the game. Ezekiel Ebenezer (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) had three shots for the Storm in the contest.

The Storm will return home to Painesville for a home contest with the Alderson Broaddus Battlers on Thursday (Sept. 21).
