Box Score

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team earned their first win of the 2017 season on Monday (Sept. 11) night in a non-conference matchup with the Carlow University Celtics.

The Storm defeated the Celtics 1-0 after an early goal was the difference.

Lake Erie provided plenty of offensive attacks in the early going. Nine and a half minutes into the game, Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio / Stow Munroe Falls) found the back of the net with a header from a cross from Brett Pauff (Elida, Ohio / Elida).

The Storm held a 9-7 shot advantage at the half with a 1-0 lead.

Lake Erie put eight more shots up in the second half but could not muster an insurance goal.

The Storm finished with a 17-9 shot lead in the game, with Pryce, Ashley Mundey (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) and Peyton Frankovich (Dover, Ohio / Dover) each shooting three shots.

Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio / Lake Catholic) made four saves in her first shutout of the year in the goal.

The Storm will resume Great Midwest play at Findlay on Thursday (Sept. 14).
