PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College football team wrapped up their 2017 campaign today, with a loss to Hillsdale, 54-0.

The Chargers drove their opening possession five plays that spanned 58 yards.  The drive was capped by a 12 yard touchdown rush.  After the Storm's opening drive stalled out, Hillsdale drove the ball 61 yards on six plays.  The Chargers made the score 14-0 with a 23 yard touchdown rush.  The Storm entered the second quarter behind on the scoreboard, 14-0.

Early in the second quarter the Chargers made the score, 17-0 with a 34 yard goal.  Later in the second quarter the Jason Rogers (Laurel, Md. / DeMatha) intercepted a Hillsdale pass and provided the Storm with a spark.  The Lake Erie offense was unable to convert the turnover into points and the ensuing Chargers possession was finished off with a 60 yard touchdown run, to give Hillsdale a 24-0 advantage.  Midway through the second quarter the Storm defense forced a second turnover when Ronald Whitfield (Washington D.C. / Woodrow Wilson) forced a fumble that was recovered by Rogers, but once again the Storm offense stalled.  The Chargers would tack on a 48 yard field goal as time expired in the first half, and entered the intermission ahead 27-0.

The Hillsdale offense tacked on a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter to take a commanding lead into the final frame.

The Chargers added two more touchdowns in the fourth.  The Storm defense never stopped fighting as Jermichael Isom (Gadsden, Alabama / Gadsden) blocked a Hillsdale extra point.  The Chargers won the game, 54-0.
