Storm Victorious in Season Finale, 2-1

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was in action today (Oct. 24) as they were victorious over Daemen College, 2-1.

The Storm snatched a first half lead when Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain / Los Sauces School) scored on a breakaway goal.  The goal was assisted by Ezekiel Ebenezer (Columbia, Md. / Long Reach) to give Lake Erie a 1-0 advantage.  The Wildcats responded four minutes later when they scored off a penalty kick.   

Early in the second half, the Storm regained the lead when Ebenezer found the back of the net off an assist by Ameer Saade (Beirut, Lebanon / Fordson), to give Lake Erie a 2-1 lead with 35 minutes remaining in the game.  The remainder of the second half was scoreless and Lake Erie held on to win, 2-1. 

In the net for the Storm was Tom John (Ahrensburg, Germany / Tennis Borussia Berlin) as he faced 20 shots, 10 of which were on goal, and made nine saves.
