PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team opened Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a 1-0 loss to Walsh University on Sunday (Sept. 17).

Lake Erie dropped to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC with the loss. Walsh improved to 4-1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Both teams were scoreless in the first half despite Walsh taking nine shots.

In the second half, Walsh took the lead with a goal in the 65^th minute. Olivia Peters scored off of a rebound from a prior shot. Peter's sixth goal of the year was the eventual game-winner.

Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio/ Lake Catholic) made eight saves in the game as Walsh took 16 shots to Lake Erie's five.

The Storm will be back in action on Friday (Sept. 23) as they travel to Ashland for a GLIAC road matchup.
