Storm Split Day One at IUP Invite

INDIANA, Pa. – The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated today by Pitt-Johnston in game one, but bounced back to defeat Alderson-Broaddus.  With the split the Storm is 1-1 on the season.

The Storm fell in straight sets (3-0) in their first match against Pitts-Johnstown.  The Storm was led by Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South) who led the attack with nine kills.  Bethany Fisher (Orrville, Ohio / Dalton) and Crystal Kedroske each had eight kills for the Storm in the match.  The Storm defense was led by Graesyn Engler (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) who had 10 digs in the game.  Also helping on the defensive side was Kedroske and Jamie Riley (Prospect, Ohio / Olentangy), both tallied nine digs in the match. 

The Storm bounced back to defeat Alderson-Broaddus in straight sets (25-22, 25-15, 25-23).  Fisher led the offense for the Storm in game two with a gamehigh 12 kills.  The defense was anchored by Engler who had 14 digs.  Also helping on defense was Kredoske and Alexis Thomas (Cincinnati, Oh / Fairfield) who each had 10 digs in the match.   

Lake Erie will be back in action tomorrow in the final day of the IUP Invite, as they take on Seton Hill and Indiana at 10 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. respectively.
